How do I create a Hunbun account?
Hunbun requires all users to verify their accounts using a mobile phone number and an email address. We have this requirement in place to ensure the safety and security of your account, as well as to send you important information about your account and relevant updates to the app.
To create an account using only your phone number:
Download the Hunbun app for iOS
Tap on Sign in with phone number
Verify your number using the OTP
Add your email address
Fill out your basic profile info
Take a video selfie
Allow Hunbun access to all required permissions
Submit your profile for review
Once accepted, start dating!
To create an account using social log-ins (Facebook, Apple or Google):
Download the Hunbun app for iOS
Tap on Sign in with Facebook/Apple/Google
Verify your number using the OTP
Fill out your basic profile info
Take a video selfie
Allow Hunbun access to all required permissions
Submit your profile for review
Once accepted, start dating!
Is Hunbun free?
Yes, Hunbun is absolutely free. You can download the Hunbun app for iOS and start using it right away. If you’d like to access exclusive features you can subscribe to our Premium Membership via the app. You can also purchase Fast Forwards to enhance your experience on Hunbun.
Does Hunbun have an Android app?
At the moment Hunbun is only available on the Apple App Store. We will be available on Android soon, join the waitlist here.
Where can I use Hunbun?
Hunbun is currently only available in the UK. We hope to expand to other parts of the world soon.
What’s the minimum age requirement to use Hunbun?
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Hunbun profile.
How are profiles accepted/rejected?
Name (must include first and last name)
Date of birth (must be over 18 years old)
Educational background (must select highest degree)
Occupation (must be a legitimate job title)
Uploaded Photos
Must include at least 6 clear photos of yourself
Face must be clearly visible in all photos
Do not upload the same photo multiple times
No photos in bikinis or swimwear unless you are at the beach or in a pool
Do not upload pictures with no people
No pictures of you in your underwear or shirtless
No shirtless mirror selfies
No hiding behind your phone or your hair
No filters, watermarks or text overlaid
Please do not upload screenshots of yourself from other apps
No photos of children on their own, must be in the photo with an adult and fully clothed
No nude or pornographic material
No photos of any type of illegal activity (i.e. drugs or abusive, obscene behaviour)
No graphic hunting photos
No guns or weaponry
Realness verification
Must complete the realness verification (follow instructions on screen with movement required to authenticate your realness).
If any of these criterion are incomplete or do not meet our standards we will give you the opportunity to rectify and edit your information. However, if you fail to comply with our requirements then you will be rejected from joining the Hunbun community.
Why do I need to verify my profile?
We’re all about helping people create genuine and authentic connections, that means doing our utmost to safeguard our community from potential catfish. We have partnered with Onfido, which uses a hybrid of machine learning and human expertise to map and compare your selfie video with your profile photos to verify your authenticity.
When you complete the verification process, Onfido generates a report for us which shows us whether your profile is genuine, or if something’s off and you need to retry. Based on this report and the acceptance/rejection criteria outlined above, we then decide whether to approve you or not.
What will you do with my selfie video?
We do not store your selfie video on our backend system, it is only temporarily visible on Onfido’s portal with us and automatically sent for deletion after 10 days. We have a 20 day grace period to retrieve the data from Onfido, if needed. However, after 30 days have passed, your data will be completely deleted from Onfido’s reporting system.
How can I edit my profile?
During the onboarding phase you are unable to go back and edit your profile. Once you have been accepted to Hunbun and land onto the Discover page, you can click on the Profile icon on the bottom right corner of your screen and tap on edit my profile to open the profile editor.
Is Hunbun only for heterosexuals?

How do I like someone’s profile?
There are two ways to express your interest in someone on Hunbun:
Interact with part of someone’s profile by tapping on the floating heart icon.
Take the quiz on the lifestyle section of someone’s profile. If you get 3/6 answers correctly you can slide into their DM’s and start chatting with them.
In Discover mode, why are some parts of other people’s profiles locked?
Hunbun provides an environment for users to practice slow dating. When you match with someone the goal is to have a deep conversation.
The more you both message each other, the more information you will unlock about each other such as their height, opinions on PDA, answers to their prompts as well as their photos and relationship preferences (if they decide to share that information).
On the chat screen you will see a progress bar on top to show you how much of their profile you have unlocked.
Why do we do this? So you can fall for their personality first, then their looks.
How do I see who likes me?
When someone sends you a Like, a numerical badge will appear on the Likes You tab and you will be able to view the most recent like by clicking on the tab itself.
As a Hunbun member you can see each like individually through a drip-feed, and must either choose to match or skip each incoming like one-by-one.
With a Hunbun Premium Membership, you can see everyone that has liked you at once.
How do I match with someone and start chatting?
If someone already liked your profile, you’ll see them appear in the Likes You tab. If you want to match with them, tap to open their profile and click on the Match button. Then their profile will move to Matches, where you can begin chatting with them.
How do I remove an existing match?
There are two ways to unmatch with someone:
Tap on your Matches tab
Slide left on the name of the person you want to unmatch
Tap Unmatch
Follow our anti-ghosting policy
or alternatively:
When you’re on the chat screen with the person you want to Unmatch
Tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen

What is Hunbun’s anti-ghosting policy?
Let’s face it everyone has either ghosted someone or been ghosted by someone and quite frankly, it sucks.
We want all our users to feel respected and valued, if you’re not feeling the spark with someone, it’s only common decency to let them know early on rather than leaving them hanging.
We help you choose from a selection of anti-ghosting messages. All you have to do is simply tap on an option such as, “Sorry ___ I’m not feeling the spark, good luck on your search!”.
What is Hunbun Premium?
Hunbun premium includes all basic functions of the app PLUS the following:
Additional filters for age and distance
3 Fast Forwards per month
You can see everyone who Likes You at the same time
Boost for 24 hours
How can I cancel my subscription to Premium Membership?
On your iPhone:
Tap on Settings app
Tap on your name
Tap on subscriptions
Tap on Hunbun
Tap Cancel Subscription (if there is no cancel button, the subscription is already canceled).
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them. If you don’t want your subscription to renew, you need to cancel it at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

How do I report another user?
We are committed to maintaining a positive and respectful Hunbun community, and we do not tolerate any inappropriate content or misconduct whether on or off the Hunbun app. If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please report it. Here’s how:
On the Hunbun app:
When viewing another member’s profile, or while engaging on a chat with the user in question, simply select the three dots on the top right corner and tap on Report.
Next, select a reason why you are reporting this person and submit.
Off the Hunbun app:
Please write to us at support@hunbun.co and include the following information:
The reason for the report
The exact name, age, bio that appears on the profile you are reporting (screenshots are best)
Other useful information includes the user’s location, phone number, email address, and/or a link to their Facebook account.
We take these reports very seriously, the more details you can provide, the quicker we can identify and investigate the profile or user in question.
Once we receive your report, here’s what happens behind the scenes:
Our team of human moderators look into the report
In most cases, we’ll handle the report without you needing to do anything else. By reporting someone, you will not be able to see or interact with their profile again and vice versa.
If we ever need more information to sort things out, we’ll contact you via email.
We are unable to share the status of reports due to privacy reasons.
Can I temporarily pause my account?
To pause your account:
Tap on the profile icon
Tap on Account Settings
Toggle the Pause switch to the on position
Pausing your account prevents you from being shown to new people, but you’ll still be able to chat with your existing matches.
To unpause your account, simply toggle the Pause switch to the off position.
How can I manage my notifications?
You can choose to change the notifications and emails you receive by following the steps below:
Tap on your profile
Tap Account Settings
Scroll down to the Notifications section
Tap push notifications or emails to make updates
When you finish making updates tap Done in the upper right hand corner
How do I request a copy of my personal data?
You request to download your data in the Hunbun app.
Tap on your Account settings and select Download My Data. After you submit your request you’ll be notified when your data is ready for download.
What is Hunbun’s data deletion process?
If you want to delete your data from the App you can tap on the profile icon and select ‘Account Settings’, then scroll to the bottom of the page and tap on ‘Delete Account’. This will immediately remove your profile from being visible to other users. After 30 days your data will be deleted from our backend system. Alternatively, you can email us at support@hunbun.co to delete your account manually.
